Whispers of Gold on DVD
The popular local film Whispers of Gold is now out on DVD in time for Christmas.

On the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, lie the ghosts of Waiuta, one of New Zealand’s richest gold towns.
The story was brought to film, commissioned by Friends of Waiuta and made by Hokitika filmmaker, producer Dave Kwant, with direction by Luis Caston and story by Robyn Janes.
The title has grossed $34,338 to date on the NZ Box Office in cinemas.
Whispers of Gold tells Waiuta’s story from its beginnings to the current day. Archive film and photographs give a rare glimpse of the 1900’s mining town life - the colorful characters, stories, and the gold that kept its heart beating but left a toxic legacy.
Friends of Waiuta have now managed to get a DVD on the market in time for Christmas.
