Constable Jordan Baty came across a little Blue Penguin on the road during patrol on North Beach, Cobden last night. It is a timely reminder of nesting season. Once safely ushered off the road, this little guy moved on.

Wildlife has been roaming freely during the lockdown with less traffic, road users are urged to take extra care, particularly in Coastal areas.

Adult birds come ashore between May and June to prepare for nesting. They can waddle up to 1.5km from sea and climb 300m to find a spot to nest.

The West Coast Penguin Trust has worked with many schools educating children. The below video shows the excellent work they do in the region.
