Regent Cinema Busy

For the first time since pre Covid the Regent Greymouth has seen full cinemas.

"It's been an awesome weekend at the movies and today has been unreal. With the train back and School holidays now on we are seeing the benefits," Manager, Jacinda McBride said.

The TranzAlpine resumed on Saturday injecting hundreds of domestic travelers into the district. Locals are advised to book their movie tickets or risk missing out on a seat.

"It all started on the weekend with a couple of full houses and it has continued today, it's pleasing to see."

A cross section of films are on hand with a splash of older titles at reduced rates. The older films are helping fill a gap, as the industry struggles with the fallout from the global virus. New film, 'Trolls World Tour' looks to be the pick of the bunch for the young ones.

Later this month the theatre is putting on a special 'Rocky Horror' screening of the 1975 hit film. Tickets are on sale now at the price of $20 and include a special cocktail/mock-tail, themed doughnut from What's the Occasion, and a ticket to the film. There will be prizes for best dressed.
