Michelle’s Shave for a Cure

Cancer has touched her family many times and often she has felt helpless.

Michelle Gillman

Well known Coast identity Michelle Gillman has joined others around the country for this years Leukamia and Blood Cancer 'Shave for a Cure'.

LBC has a vision to cure and a mission to care for patients and families affected by blood cancers and related blood conditions. The national organisation provides patient support programmes, research funding, advocacy, awareness and information. “Shave for a Cure” is one way that allows people in the NZ community to help raise money for this vital work. A spokesperson said.

Cancer has touched Michelle's family many times .

"I’m shaving my hair off to  support cancer patients including my beautiful cousin Tracy who is currently trying to overcome Burkitt's Lymphoma, my late cousin Jason and my Uncle Kevin who both died last year of brain cancer" Said Gillman.

She told McBride Vision it is a remembrance of all of our loved ones battling or lost to cancer as we try to find more effective treatments and save lives. "We need to make sure people with cancer get the support they need to get through."
