GOLF: Osborne cleans up
Surprisingly, despite the cold and wet conditions over last weekend there were enough keen and or mad members out on Sunday to hold a match.

Mike Osborne (75) played better than his handicap winning with 38 points from Paddy McBride (75) 35 and then James Hardie (81) third with 33.
Raymond Blair recorded the only two.
This weekend, there may be some digger work being done around the course. But regardless, there will be matchesboth days.
With Covid interruptions a new revised club program is now available. A number of events have been cancelled due to the virus and the delays that have resulted from the lockdown.
The interclub matches have been a casualty of Covid but the club have approached Hokitika and agreed to have a home and away friendly interclub match play competition.
To have something to play for it has been decided to bring back an old trophy. Maybe the TEY Seddon.
There will be a list put up at the club house for any interested members. The good news is there is no limit on numbers and the first match is at Greymouth on the 28th of this month.
The other dates to be aware of is the 15/16th August which is the weekend for club champ qualifying.

The winter weather affected play over the past week with the only match played being a stableford on Sunday. A small field braved the marginal conditions with Shane Minhinnick (77) being the winner with 37 points from Mike Foster (78) on 36 points. Minhinnick also had a two.
The washed out matches from last weekend will be played this weekend with the match on Saturday being a stableford and qualifying round of the Weir Cup while the members jackpot tournament will be held on Sunday with a 12 pm tee off.
For the ladies the James Cup Round 1 will be played on Saturday in conjunction with the LGU that was missed the previous Saturday. Match Committee on Duty, A Day Catering.
