Free training options contribute to TPP enrolment jump
Almost twice as many people have enrolled to study at Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP) in 2021 compared with this time last year.
As at the beginning of November 2020, enrolments for semester one 2021 programmes had reached nearly 70% of the enrolment target, compared to 40% at the same time last year.
Mequa Hourston, Leader – Engagement says interest in trades training and free study options had contributed to the jump in enrolments.
“There’s high demand for our popular outdoor education, ski patrol, jade and hardstone carving and digger school programmes, and we’re also seeing increased interest in other trades programmes such as carpentry and automotive engineering.
The Government’s Targeted Training and Apprenticeships Fund (TTAF) means study is free for all students across a range of TPP programmes including carpentry, civil plant operation (digger school), agriculture and mechanical engineering.
Applications for enrolment in all of these programmes – and right across TPP – remain open. Whether you’re just getting started in your career or looking to change focus, there are some great study options at TPP. Give us a call, visit the website or email us to find out more.
