Covid Detected in Christchurch
The Ministry of Health was this afternoon made aware of a number of test results detected at a Christchurch managed isolation facility.
Earlier in the day there was only one case to report with no community cases. This afternoon the Ministry made a statement that they are aware of 11 positive cases with 14 cases under further investigation in Christchurch. All are imported cases detected at routine day 3 testing. None involve cases in the community. As further analysis is undertaken, these numbers may change.
"All relevant public health measures are being taken and there is no additional risk to staff or the public. The positive cases are part of a group who are the only people staying at this facility." A spokesperson said.
"This is an example of our border controls working as they should."
The latest news comes as hundreds of International fisherman land in NZ with the skills needed to man the deep-sea fishing vessels scattered around the country which are waiting on crew.
