Brougham House in Westport will open from Thursday 14 May between 8.30am and 4.30pm, and the Reefton Service Centre and Post Shop will open from Monday 18 May between 10am and 2pm.
Public health measures will be in place to ensure the safety of customers and staff. People who are unwell are asked to stay home, and a strict one person in one person out process will be in place for customers at both offices. Those who do come in will be required to provide their name and two forms of contact details so Council has a record in the event that contact tracing needs to be carried out.
Council encourages the community to only come in if they need to. Many Council services are available online or can be done remotely, and payments can be made by internet banking. Drop boxes are available at both offices during opening hours for those who just need to drop something off.
Libraries in both Westport and Reefton will not be open for browsing for the time being, but will still be offering a range of services. Returns boxes will open from Thursday 14 May and a “click and collect” service will start on Monday 18 May. A range of e-resources are available for library members, and those who don’t already have a library card can sign up for a digital membership via the Buller District Libraries’ website.
Due to the lack of new movie releases, the Bill Moffitt Cinema and Fred Gregory Screen Room at the NBS Theatre, along with the Reefton Cinema, will remain closed for the time being.
